Ben L. Trotter

February 12, 1949 — August 25, 2020

Former Councilman Ben Trotter passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, August 25th, 2020. Born in Pickens County to the late Ben Hagood Trotter and the late Frances Rowland Trotter.

Ben proudly served on Pickens County Council and Pickens County School Board. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are his children Bobby Trotter (Lisa), Carol Kitchens (Jeff) and Brandie Outz (Rick), grandchildren Adam Kitchens, Wesley Kitchens, Kevin Payton and Thomas Payton, Aryana Outz, Kadence Outz, and one great grandchild Iyanna Hill, sisters Jere Chappell (Calvin), Patsy Cannon, and Jo Holcombe, several nieces and nephews that were like his own children.

Ben was predeceased by his wife of 50 years Wilma Trotter, a brother Red Trotter and a sister Martha McCall.

The family will receive friends 6:00 pm until 6:45 pm Monday, August 31, 2020 at Freedom Biker Church, 125 N. Freeman Road, Liberty, South Carolina. The memorial service will follow at 7:00 pm
