Barbara Bevill Samples

September 10, 1961 — September 12, 2023

In the early morning hours of September 12, 2023, the Lord called home our beloved sister, Barbara Bevill Samples. Born on September 10, 1961, in the quaint town of Parris Island, SC, Barbara was a beacon of love, spirit, and thoughtfulness. Her departure from this earthly realm took place in Spartanburg, SC, but her legacy of love and kindness will forever echo in the hearts of those she left behind.

Barbara was the cherished daughter of Mary Bevill and the late Darrell Bevill. She was the beloved wife of Danny Samples, and a treasured sister to Robert (Becky) Bevill and Johnny (Kim) Bevill. Her love extended to her grandchildren, Shawna (Tyler) Hennessy, and Dustin (Brittany) Alexander. Her heart was big enough to hold love for her great-grandchildren, Tarra, Julieanna, Lilly, and Leahann, and her step-daughter, Priscilla S. (John) Hennessy.

Barbara was a proud graduate of Woodruff High School. She carried the same dedication and commitment into her professional life, serving as a Business Manager until her well-earned retirement. Her work ethic was commendable, and she was respected by her colleagues and peers for her integrity and commitment.

Barbara's love for the Lord was evident in her devotion to her church, Covenant Baptist. She found joy in serving the Lord and her community through the Sunshine Puppet Ministry, bringing smiles to the faces of children and adults alike. Her faith was as steadfast as a lighthouse in a storm, guiding those around her towards love and compassion.

In addition to her love for her church, Barbara had a special place in her heart for her animals, Lady and Missy. Her pets were not just animals to her, but family members who brought her immense joy and companionship. Her love for them was a testament to her nurturing and caring nature.

Barbara was a woman of spirit, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a kind word. She was thoughtful, always considering the needs and feelings of others before her own. She was loving, her heart a wellspring of unconditional love for her family, friends, and community. Her spirit was infectious, and her love was a comfort to all who knew her.

As we bid farewell to our beloved Barbara, we celebrate her life and the love she shared with us all. Her memory will forever be a guiding light, leading us towards love, compassion, and kindness. We take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, resting in the arms of our Lord.

In the words of the good book, "Well done, good and faithful servant." Barbara Bevill Samples, you have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith. Now, a crown of righteousness awaits you in the kingdom of our Lord. Rest in peace, dear Barbara, until we meet again.
