Barbara Gail Meeks Benson, was born June 25, 1947. She passed away on July 9, 2023 after fighting a courageous battle of sickness. She previously worked for Atlas Vending and National Cabinet Lock.
She was proceeded in life by her wonderful parents, John and Minnie Meeks of Greenville SC, her brother Bill Meeks of Greenville SC and Sister Rachel Bryant of Decatur, AL.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, George (Tommy) Benson, sr. of Piedmont, Daughter Renee Benson Sellers (Mark) of Woodstock, Ga, son Tommy Benson, Jr. of Westminster, SC, her grandchildren Afton Baker (Chris), Blake Benson and Brooke Benson, Her two great grandchildren Abigail and Cooper Baker and sister Patricia Knable (Gene) of Decatur, Al.
Barbara's passion in life was always God and her family. She loved reading the Bible, singing hymns and family time.
The family will celebrate her life with a private family trip to one of her favorite destinations.
She is now dancing with the Angels
