Barbara "Barb" Ann Versnick

December 26, 1952 — April 15, 2025

Travelers Rest, SC

Barbara Ann Versnick, affectionately known as Barb to her friends and family, passed away on April 15, 2025, at home in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. Born on December 26, 1952, in Menomonie, Michigan, Barb's loving, thoughtful, and selfless nature was a testament to faith in her Savior the Lord Jesus Christ.

Barb grew up in a close-knit family and was the cherished daughter of the late Robert and Evelyn Goffin. Her warmth and caring spirit were cultivated from a young age, traits she carried throughout her life. She was a beloved sister to Gerald Goffin and his wife Peggy, Lynne Goffin, and James Goffin and his wife Jolynn.

Barb's academic journey included two years of college at Bob Jones University, where she not only furthered her education but also formed lasting friendships and connections. Her commitment to service was evident in her work at the BJU Campus Post Office and later at the BJU Hospital, where she dedicated ten years of her career. Barb's career not only stopped as a caregiver at work, but she also took care of her Mother-in-law and Mom for a total of 16 years. Barb's colleagues remember her as a beacon of kindness and reliability, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a word of encouragement.

Beyond her professional life, Barb's passions were deeply rooted in the simple pleasures of life. She found joy in gardening, watching the fruits of her labor bloom and grow. Quilting was another of Barb's talents, through which she crafted beautiful, tangible memories for her loved ones. Her nurturing spirit extended to animals as well, and she was a trusted dog sitter who treated every pet as if it were her own.

Barb and her loving husband, David Versnick spent just a couple months shy of 52 years together. Barb's legacy is carried on by her devoted sons, Dr. Mark Versnick and his wife Amanda, Jon Versnick, and Paul Versnick and his wife Sarah. She was a doting grandmother to Eli, Asher, Noah, Willow, and Hawthorne, who will forever cherish the moments spent and lessons learned from their grandmother.

Barb's life was a beautiful mosaic of the roles she played – a caring daughter, a loving sister, a devoted wife and mother, an adoring grandmother, and a true friend. Those who knew her were touched by her generosity and her ability to make everyone feel valued and loved.

As we bid farewell to Barbara Ann Versnick, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a heart that gave so freely. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, and her spirit will remain a comforting presence in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Barb's journey on earth has concluded, but the impact of her love and kindness will resonate for generations to come.
