Astrida Silvia Petersons was born on September 27, 1933 in Riga Latvia. She immigrated to the United States as a refugee in her teenage years, and lived in Battle Creek, Michigan before moving to Wisconsin, Minnesota, California, Texas, and South Carolina. She passed away at her home in the early hours of July 6, 2019 at the age of 85. Preceded in death by husband Janis Oskars Petersons, parents Livija and Arvids Nemanis, and grandson Bret Peterson. She is survived by her three children, Erik (Cathy) of Eagan, MN, Dagne (Tom) of Simpsonville, SC, and Linda (Scott) of New Richmond, WI. She also survived my her grandchildren Ryan, Evan, Erin, and Ariana, and step-grandchildren Jake, Mitchell, Jordan, Kelvin, and Zach.
Astrida was active in the community, volunteering at the theater and she played in several bridge groups. She also loved to travel.
She was fortunate to have many good friends in Minnesota, Texas, and South Carolina. Like in life, she passed away on her own terms, peacefully in her own bed.
