Anne Viola Jay Brady, 74 of Greenville died Tuesday, February 7, 2017. Born in Greenville, SC she was the daughter of Hazel Pitman Jay Christian and the late Jerome Kenneth Jay, Sr.
She is survived by daughters Anne Whitney Brady of Greenville, SC and Meg Jay, PhD, her husband John Conklin and their children Jay and Hazel of Charlottesville, VA. Also surviving are her sisters Patricia J. Grant and her husband Dr. Hugh Grant of Raleigh, NC; Jerrie K. Jay of Hilton Head Island, SC and a brother Jerome K. Jay, jr. and his wife Gina of Greenville, SC. She has many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Anne graduated from Greenville High School and Winthrop College where she earned a B.A. Degree in Spanish and English. In 1980 Anne began a long and successful career in insurance as a Broker/Vice-President with Willis of North America and then as a Vice-President with Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. She won numerous national Exceptional Producer awards and was recognized as both a subject matter expert and an expert witness in group benefits brokerage and HIPPA compliance.
She served her community as a graduate of Leadership Greenville, a former member of the Executive Board of the YMCA of Greenville, the United Way, the Greenville Little Theatre, the Greenville Health System’s Patewood Hospital Advisory Council and several other non-profit organizations in the area. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Greenville and a friend of Christ Church Episcopal.
The family thanks Interim Hospice for the loving and devoted care they gave to Anne during this past year. Their dedication enabled us to have more time together and for that we are grateful.
A Memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Greenville on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 2 PM. Visitation will be held in the Narthex following the service. Memorials may be made to the Ministry to Families fund at First Baptist Church or to Pastoral Care at Christ Church Episcopal.
