Ann Turnage, 83, left her family’s arms to join her beloved late husband, Joseph “Reggie” Turnage, on Feb. 28, 2021. She will be greatly missed by her family as well as her many friends, new and old. Ann is survived by her loving children, Joseph Turnage, Jr and his wife Pamela Currie; Cynthia Gerald and husband Walter; and Patrick Turnage and wife Jennifer; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a brother, Herbert Truesdale.
Ann was born and raised in Columbia, SC and spent most of her life there. She served as the dedicated secretary at Rosewood Elementary School for 28 years and loved all of the children and staff. She was a devoted member of Heyward Street United Methodist Church.
Ann made many new friends in her later life, when she moved to Greenville, SC to be near family. There she became a member of Lee Road UMC. She loved gardening, painting, sewing and going anywhere with family and friends.
Above all else, Ann was a loving wife and mother who gave her all to raising a wonderful family. Her selfless nature made no sacrifice too great for her to ensure the happiness and well-being of her family and her departure has left a hole in all their hearts, but her they take comfort in knowing there is a joyous reunion with her loving husband, Reggie.
A celebration of her life will be announced later this summer when the family can all arrange to gather. Memorials may be made to the church ‘organ fund’ at Lee Road United Methodist Church, 1377 East Lee Road, Taylors, SC 29687.
