Allen L. Weckler of Fair Play, South Carolina, a loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother left for the peace of heaven on October 05 2018.
Born May 20,1952 in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin to Gerald and Elean Weckler, Allen spent his youth in Wisconsin, graduating from Southern Door High School, he
later worked for Rhuel construction company building houses then Bay Shipbuilding and later, Lunda Construction.
In 1981 he, wife, Lori, and their children moved to the Atlanta area where he worked for Lunda Construction building the downtown connector. Children, Donovan and Jennifer and their children continue to live near Atlanta.
Allen later opened his own company, A & W Framing, Inc, with son, Donny working by his side. As subcontractors they built homes from small and basic to large and elegant. Allen remodeled and built several homes for his family, the last being a retirement home on Lake Hartwell. A long time friend recently wrote that Allen “was a fixer and he didn’t just fix it --he fixed it right.”
Allen is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lori; children, Donovan and Jennifer; grandchildren Brittany, Chipper, James and Gabrielle; mother, Elean; sisters, Cheryl, Linda, Christine and Lori; brothers Dale, Gene and Randy. Allen was preceded in death by his father, Gerald.
