Robert E Harner

March 20, 1940 — December 20, 2023

Robert E. "Bob" Harner, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on December 20, 2023. Born on March 20, 1940, in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late Eugene and Loretta (Pirring) Harner, Bob's life was a testament to the values of love, kindness, and humor that he embodied.

Bob grew up in a close-knit family and was predeceased by his brother Ronald "Ron" Harner and sister Beverly Harner Bobash. His life was enriched by his beloved wife, Roswitha "Rose" (Menzen) Harner, with whom he shared countless memories and a deep, enduring love. Together, they raised a family that includes their son Robert Harner, daughter Dr. Heidi Harner Morrill, daughter-in-law Kris Tattam Harner, and son-in-law Victor Morrill. Bob was a proud grandfather to Anna Fulbright and her fiancé Matthew Newton, and Alexander Fulbright and his wife Abby (Lewis) Fulbright. His life was further brightened by the presence of his close family friend, Erma Rash, who, along with her late husband Doyle Rash, shared many of life's joys and sorrows with the Harner family.

Bob was a man of many talents and interests. After completing trade school, he excelled in his career as an HVAC engineer, working with dedication at Sirrine and Fluor Daniel. His expertise and commitment to his craft were matched only by his honorable service in the U.S. Army, where he served as a Specialist. Bob's colleagues and friends within the industry remember him not only for his professional skills but also for his warm camaraderie and quick wit.

Outside of work, Bob was an avid outdoorsman. He found solace and joy in hunting, fishing, and boating. His hands were rarely still, as he was also a skilled woodworker, creating beautiful pieces that are cherished by his family and friends, including custom cabinetry throughout his home. Bob's love for the outdoors was matched by his love for his family, and he often combined these passions, creating lasting memories on fishing trips and during family gatherings.

Those who knew Bob will remember him as a loving and kind man with a sense of humor that could light up a room. He had a unique ability to make people feel at ease, and his laughter was infectious. Bob's presence was a source of comfort and joy to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

As we say goodbye to Robert E. "Bob" Harner, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of love, laughter, and the simple pleasures that make life worth living. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, the craftsmanship of his woodworking, and the countless stories of his adventures and misadventures that will be told and retold by those who loved him.

Bob's life journey has come to a peaceful end, but the impact he made on the world around him will continue to resonate. He will be deeply missed, but the warmth of his spirit will continue to guide and inspire his family and friends for generations to come.
