James Dwight Donald, 64 passed away surrounded by his loved ones on May 6th, 2023 in
Greenville, South Carolina. Dwight was born on July 16th, 1958 to James Albert Donald and
Eunice Celeste Donald in Greenville, South Carolina.
While attending Woodmont High School, Dwight earned 9 varsity letters in various sports. After Dwight graduated high school in 1976, he went on to study Spanish at South Carolina State College. At the time of Dwight’s attendance, the institution was called SC State College. The institution later changed its name
to South Carolina State University in 1992. After graduating Cum Laude from South Carolina State University in 1980, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish, he began his teaching career. Dwight briefly taught Spanish before making a career change to working at the United States Postal Service for 35 years.
In 1987 Dwight met Krystal at The Dazzlers in Greenville, South Carolina. Dwight and Krystal
married in 1989 and went on to have two children, Malcomb and MaKenzie Donald. Dwight has
a son from his previous marriage, Brandon Donald.
In 2020 Dwight retired and spent his time golfing, in addition; to furthering his education by taking
Latin and writing courses at Furman University, writing poetry, short stories, and periodicals. He
also taught GED classes at Golden Strip Career Center.
Dwight is survived by his mother, father, and siblings: Eunice Donald, James Albert Donald,
Sherlyn Donald, April Banks, LaPrelle Donald, Gerrard Donald; his wife and three children:
Krystal Donald, Brandon Donald, Malcomb Donald, MaKenzie Donald; his two grandchildren:
Malkhi Donald and Ruby Norman.
Dwight was charismatic, kind-hearted, and warm-spirited. He was a reliable and faithful servant.
He was loved by all who met him and will be deeply missed.
