Eugenia Pell Wright, widow of Newell Frank Wright passed peacefully into eternity surrounded by close family members on Saturday, October 22, 2022. She is survived by three daughters, Sandra W Swartzfager of Cashiers, NC, Carole Anne W Hughey of Greer SC and Tina W Jones of Easley, SC in addition to 5 grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews in the Carolinas.

Jeanne as she was known to most, was born in Cashiers Valley, NC and lived for many decades in and around the Greenville SC area where she had a lengthy and successful career as an LPN at Roger Huntington Nursing home, Greer HealthCare and Greenville General in addition to private duty. She was a lifetime member of the Greenville Chapter of B.P.O. Does and a former member of Church of the Good Shepherd in Greer. She and her husband hosted the Girl Scouts of the Old 96 Council for their annual summer day camp as well as serving as a Troop Leader for many years in the Greer area. Her life was dedicated to volunteer activities well into her 80’s.
She had a quick wit, sense of humor and passion for caring for family members. She traveled far and wide often to care for her grandchildren and great grandchildren in times of illness well into her 90’s. She was offering up her “nursing skills” even in her final days.
A “Celebration of life service” will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022 at 12:00 noon at Church of the Good Shepherd, Cashiers, NC. A reception will immediately follow the service and burial at the church. Memorials may be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd Outreach, Cashiers, NC or a charity of one’s own choosing.
