Donna Jean Gilmer, known affectionately as Donna to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2024, at the age of 64, in Pickens, South Carolina. Born on May 4, 1959, in Greenville, South Carolina, Donna was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her.

Donna was predeceased by her parents, Louis (Jim) and Lillie Boswell, her brothers Harold Davis and Tommy Boswell, her sister Marie Tucker, and grandson Cori'anno Henderson, and is survived by her devoted spouse Donnie Paines. She was a cherished mother to Bobby (Dawn) Gramling, Josh (Aubrey) Gramling, and Randi Henderson. Donna took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to Hunter, Chase, Phoenix, Xoe, Gramling, Serenity Murphy, and Miyah Mack. She also leaves behind her stepson Christian (Simone) Gilmer and her adored grandbabies Makayla, Naomi, and Yakire Gilmer.

Her brother Johnny (Lana) Boswell, sister Vickie Jo Davis, and her best friend Christine Burrell will remember Donna for her boundless love and kindness. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, friends, and associates who were touched by her friendly nature and loving spirit.

Donna's life was one of vibrant engagement with the world around her. She was an avid reader, with a particular fondness for the works of Nora Roberts. Her passion for fishing was only matched by her love for her dogs and the South Carolina Gamecocks. Donna's hands were rarely still, as she found joy in crocheting and was a fan of the epic saga "Game of Thrones." Her whimsical love for fairies reflected her belief in the magic of everyday life.
