Bryan Scott DeYoung

Bryan Scott DeYoung GREER, SC – Bryan DeYoung, 54, of Greer, SC passed away
suddenly on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. Preceding him in death were his beloved wife, Leigh Ann
Satterfield DeYoung, and his father, Tom DeYoung. Bryan is survived by his two children,
Thomas and Catherine along with his mother, Elinor, his brother, Billy (Chris) and nephews,
Josh (Mary) and Will Cagle. He also leaves behind his cherished companion, Margaret Crooks,
and her children Sam and Hannah.
Bryan was born in Buncombe County, NC on February 25, 1969. He graduated from
Eastside High School in 1987 and continued his education at Winthrop College where he was a
brother of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Bryan was a realtor in Upstate, SC for over 30 years
and loved helping clients find the home of their dreams.
He never met a stranger and was a remarkable husband and father. Bryan’s most enduring
quality was his love for family and friends. He often said his greatest achievement in life was his
two children of whom he was extremely proud. Bryan enjoyed watching sports with his son and
loved visiting friends along the coast. Second only to his family, friends, and church, was his
love for Clemson. He enjoyed spending his fall weekends tailgating at Clemson with his friends
and family and cheering the Tigers on to victory. Bryan was especially proud of his daughter
Catherine who will be attending Clemson University this fall.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at St. Matthew
United Methodist Church at 701 Cleveland Street, Greenville, SC 29601. A memorial service
will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church.
